happening during the week leading up where children and adults alike can dress and impress (or depress) in their costumes.

Wednesday, Oct. 28, and Thursday, Oct. 29

On Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 29, the Central Railroad Terminal of New Jersey at the end of Audrey Zapp Drive in Liberty State Park will be transformed into The Haunted Terminal at Liberty State Park, where all things fearsome will haunt the guests who take a special walking tour of the terminal. Thursday, Oct. 29

The Historic Downtown SID will be holding its annual Halloween Bash in conjunction with the Farmers’ Market at the Grove PATH Plaza from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
There will be free pictures of kids, available for download through the website www.jcdowntown.org. Candy and goodie bags will also be available for the kids.

Friday, Oct. 30

The Kennedy Dancers present their annual “Hip-Holla-Ween Bash & Dance Party” fundraiser event at their dance studio, 79 Central Ave.
There will be Creepy Finger Foods & Bizarre Beverages (alcohol-free) and prizes for Best Costume, Most Original Costume, and Funniest Costume.
Guests are encouraged to come at 7 p.m. to learn the dance from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and then show off their moves on the street in a flash mob to be videotaped at 10 p.m. and put on YouTube.
Admission is $20 for adults and $15 for children. Proceeds will go toward Kennedy Dancers’ Inner City Youth Jr. Dance. For more information, call (201) 659-2190 or visit www.kennedydancers.org.

Saturday, Oct. 31

Of course there will be Halloween events on Halloween. Three of them are listed below.
Newport Centre Mall hosts Simon Kidgits Club Halloween Event from noon to 3 p.m. There will be costume contests and trick-or-treating. Kids can also pick up coloring sheets from Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, available on Blu-ray Disc and DVD Oct. 27 from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, as well as Halloween bags and My Little Pony Twinkle Wish Adventure stickers. Sponsor Oriental Trading Company will also provide valuable coupons to make Halloween extra fun this fall.
St. John’s Lutheran Church makes trick-or-treat an almost religious experience with its Haunted Halloween Party from 1 to 6 p.m. in the church gym. There will be games, prizes, a costume contest, and refreshments. Ticket price is $5. St. John’s is located at 155 North Street. For tickets or more information, call (201) 798-0540
The Liberty Science Center will present “Going Batty & Halloween Face Painting” from noon to 4 p.m. The center is located on 222 Jersey City Blvd. The event is free with LSC admission.
