It’s Jimmy King who’s entering a plea today

Another newspaper just repoted that former Jersey City civic club head and former Hudson County undersherrif Jimmy King has entered a federal courtroom today. King was one of 44 political and religious leaders in New Jersey who were arrested in July related to a corruption investigation.
Two other former officials have pleaded guilty in the investigation, both from Jersey City.
They were accused of taking campaign donations or payoffs from a government informant who said he wanted to develop property in their city.
Why are the Jersey City officials pleading first? Could it have something to do with the fact that some of them said they were taking donations for the campaigns of the mayor?
