Dear Editor:
My husband and I were on vacation in New York last week. We had a lovely lunch at Panera Bread in Hoboken and then parked our car at a ferry terminal. We left the ticket in the car so we wouldn’t misplace it! On Friday, 11th September we took the ferry from 39th Street in New York and got off at the Hoboken ferry terminal but we realized that this was not where we had parked the car. It was raining heavily and I waited in a pharmacy on Hudson Street with our luggage while my husband ran through the rain to the next ferry terminal in Hoboken. No car there either! He came back and Mr. Foster of the Hoboken Historical Museum very kindly sat us down and called the police to help us find our car! Two officers from the Hoboken Police Department, Officer Joseph Cahill and Officer William Oquendo arrived and said we must be parked at Weehawken. They offered us a ride in their cruiser and sure enough, our car was in the Weehawken Ferry Car Park. We were so grateful to these three gentlemen for helping us out as we were wet, tired and anxious at this point! We are the proud parents of an Ontario police officer so we want your citizens to know what good officers you have in your lovely city!
