Dear Editor:
Unable to sleep the other night, I was awake when I heard someone trying to steal my bicycle at about 1:30 a.m. I ran outside only to notice they had already made it about a block away and were moving very quickly. I called the Hoboken Police, who responded remarkably quickly, apprehending a total of four people a few blocks away. They also recovered 4 bicycles.
By this letter, I first want to thank the police for their quick response, and suggest to people to keep the direct number for the police department handy, (201) 420-2100. It sometimes takes longer to use 911 and can be confusing.
