JCM and PM Win Awards
Kate Rounds, editor in chief of Jersey City Magazine and Palisade magazine, won first place for magazine feature writing from the Society of Professional Journalists, New Jersey Chapter, for her story “Terry and the Pirates: The Saga of the Golden Cicada” which appeared in the Spring & Summer 2008 issue of Jersey City Magazine. JCM’s Queen Latifah cover (Fall & Winter ’08-’09) was awarded second place for “Packaging the News Product, Special Issue” from the New Jersey Press Association. Editor in Chief Kate Rounds, Art Director Jennifer Martiak, Senior Designer George Fedor, and photographer Shawn Roche teamed up for the win. Theta Pavis tied for third place in magazine feature writing from the Society of Professional Journalists, New Jersey Chapter, for her story, “The Portal of the Future,” in the January/February 2008 issue of Palisade magazine.
