Twenty-five years of reflection

To the Editor:
After over 25 years of service with the first Police Auxiliary class to Bayonne, I wanted to say thank you to the following: Honorable Former Mayer Dennis P. Collins for his ever-positive forward thinking; the late Honorable Dorothy (Dottie) E. Harrington, (honored in September 2006 with her name rightly placed in City Hall Chambers); Honorable Joe Makowski; Honorable Neil DeSena for your steering our council and making Bayonne second to none; Honorable Sgt. Trooper Joe T. Philips (emergency management, N.J. State Police); Joe Pelliccio; Bob Sloan; Elmer Bruton for your elite administrative skills; and, of course, the police chief who built the best police department, Honorable Former Police Chief James Sisk; as well as Lt. Owen Ballweg, the backbone of the police department in the safest city, under Honorable Mayor Mark Smith and the Municipal Council, as well as our very capable Chief Robert Kubert and DCs Scianni and Niekrasz.
God’s speed to those no longer with us.
