Question: In high school volleyball, is it legal for the ball to contact the body below the waist of a player’s body?
Answer: This season, legal contact includes above and below the waist; ball touching “any” body part if legal. Last year, legal contact was player’s body “above and including” the waist. (Rule 9, Sec. 4, Art. 5)
Question: Can the current volleyball have multi-colored panels instead of the solid white ball?
Answer: The present legal volleyball must be entirely white with a cover of 12 or more panels. Starting the 2010-11 season, all panels may be solid white or a max combination of three solid colors with one-third panels required to be white. (Rule 3, Sec. 2, Art. 1)
