A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Aug. 27 at St. Anthony’s for Stanley Wolff, 99, formerly of Jersey City. He passed away Aug. 23 at BelleReve Senior Living Center, Milford, Pa. Born in Poznan, Poland, Mr. Wolff came to Jersey City in 1941, the same year that he married his wife of 68 years, Lucy (nee Sarzynska). Mr. Wolff was a founding member of the Liga Morsca, Veterans of the World War II Polish Navy. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1941-1945. He was a devoted parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Polish R.C. Church. For 55 years he and his wife owned and operated Stanley’s Clothes on Grove Street, Jersey City. He was a celebrated tailor. His works on behalf of the Jersey City Polish-American community are too numerous to recount here. Mr. Wolff is survived by his wife, Lucy; two sons, Daniel Wolff and his wife, Rocio of Milford, Pa.,and Leonard Wolff and his wife Irene, and five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Karenina, Christine, Monica and Michael.
