Register and vote Nov. 3

Dear Editor:
The resignation of Peter Cammarano and the interim role of Mayor Dawn Zimmer leaves Hoboken with unresolved and important questions to answer. These must be answered during the upcoming mayoral election on Nov 3rd – a winner take all election (i.e. no runoffs). For those of you who are concerned about taxes, the quality of life in Hoboken corruption or just general incompetence, your opportunity to help resolve these issues will be on Tuesday, Nov 3rd. How do you help? Vote. 1. You must register to vote (or register a change of address) 21 days prior to the election. Please see http://www.state.nj.us/state/elections/how-where-register.html 2. The simplest way to do this is download and print the form at: http://www.state.nj.us/state/elections/voter-registration-application.html. It is a trivial application that you can fill out in 5 minutes and then mail (for free). If you don’t vote you have no say in the matter and cannot complain. I strongly encourage everyone (even those you may only live here a year or two) to register and vote on Nov. 3rd. It is your right and your duty.

Scott Halstead

P.S. I do believe Dawn Zimmer is the best choice but you can make your own decision, in private, in the voter booth.
