While her alleged attacker has already spent four years behind bars, a woman has reportedly told her priest at St. Anthony’s Church in Union City, as well as police, that she made up the story about him raping her in order to keep her abusive friends from being angry at her.
According to stories in the New York Post and on WPIX, the woman recently found God and couldn’t go on with the lie.
After she claimed she was raped more than four years ago, she went to Christ Hospital in Jersey City. Nurses saw bruises on her but no other evidence of rape.
The woman recently got married and is pregnant.
