Jersey City supervisor allegedly falsified sewer permit applications

According to the Associated Press, “A Jersey City utilities supervisor has pleaded guilty to taking bribes in exchange for falsifying permit applications.
“Angela Bellizzi admitted today in U.S. District Court in Newark that she accepted cash payments from a government cooperating witness who sought sewer permits. She said she falsified permit applications to save money for the applicant.
“In exchange, the 53-year-old South River resident said she received between $200 and $500 on several occasions.”
The article said that the arrest was not related to the recent corruption sting operation.
