‘Old lady living in Manahawkin’ wants to know how Elwell, Cammarano missed it…

The Asbury Park Press in Monmouth County posted this letter to the editor today:
“Am I missing something? I am an old lady living in Manahawkin who reads the Asbury Park Press every morning. I have known for three years who Solomon Dwek is. Did none of the 44 people or their cohorts ever read a paper or watch TV? (“44 arrested in Ocean, Monmouth, Hoboken, Secaucus,” July 23.)
“The Dwek story was a major event for months, and if I were in office and saw him come through the door (he is very recognizable) I would have run for the hills. Are they all so insulated from everyday life? Or are they so arrogant as to think they can get away with it?
“Phyllis Townsend, Stafford”
It’s a good question. Up in Hudson County, he wasn’t a known entity. It appears that there are lots of old articles about his deeds in the Monmouth and Ocean County papers, though. One wonders why some of the Hudson pols didn’t do a quick internet search of this guy who wanted to develop in their towns and contribute to their funds…
What do you think about that?
