A funeral mass was celebrated July 30 at St. Joseph’s Church, West New York, for former Guttenberg Mayor James J. Hannon, 75. He passed away July 26 at Palisades Medical Center, North Bergen. Born in New York City he lived in Guttenberg for the past 45 years. James was the mayor of Guttenberg in 2008. He was an Air Force veteran serving his country during the Korean war. He was the husband of Patricia Hannon; the father of James, George, Christopher, Timothy and Terrance Hannon; the brother of Thomas Hannon; the grandfather of Erin, PFC Jeremy, Matthew, Laura, Sandra, Brianna, Nicholas, Deven, Justin, Matthew and Ian, and the greatgrandfather of Cameron and Daniel.
