Hoboken residents held a protest in front of City Hall at 6 p.m. on Monday night, calling on Mayor Peter Cammarano to resign. Cammarano has been charged with extortion after he was among 44 officials and religious figures arrested last Thursday in an FBI sting operation involving campaign donations.
More photos will be published in this Thursday’s edition of the Midweek Reporter.
Residents have also been posting flyers at bus stops around town asking Cammarano to step down (see photos in slide show).
Two days ago, a similar protest was held at Cammarano’s house (click on “more up to the minute news” for videos and photos of the protest from two days ago).
Also on Monday — as reported on this page earlier — the six chairs of Cammarano’s transition team resigned, and the executive board of the Hoboken Democratic party asked Cammarano to resign.
