While the Macy’s show over the Hudson River at 9 p.m. is the big event this coming July 4, there will be some other smaller shows from July 3-5.
The Meadowlands Fair in East Rutherford is having fireworks the nights of July 3 and 4. Bayonne is shooting them off on July 5. Secaucus is planning a celebration at the town pool for residents only, but the details are not yet confirmed. And Jersey City is having a display at Liberty State Park on July 4.
Road closures
Road closures are another thing to be aware of. A sign posted on River Road says that part of the road will be closed on Saturday, July 4.
Weehawken and Hoboken expect big crowds to watch the Macy’s display on that Saturday. Weehawken plans to post information on their website (http://www.weehawken-nj.us/) for residents on street closings and other actions taken on the Fourth of July.
