Funeral services were held June 5 for Andres Hernandez Ballarin, 78, a longtime resident of Union City. He passed away June 2. He was born in Puebla Pia, Mexico, and immigrated to the United States as a young man in the early 1950s. He worked within the printing industry until his retirement in 1995. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, visiting family in Mexico, reading and following his favorite team, the New York Yankees. Andres is survived by his wife of 50 years, Terry; his daughter and son-in-law Marilyn and Joseph Tretler of Freehold, and his daughter and son-in-law Jacqueline and Edward Galvan of Secaucus. He is also survived by two children from a previous marriage, Alex Hernandez Augilar, and Irma and her husband Antonio Hernandez, both of Mexico City. He was the grandfather of McKinley Grace Tretler, Zachary Joseph Tretler, Rosio Hernandez, Paula Hernandez and Claudia Hernandez and two great grandchildren, Alex and Stephanie Hernandez. He was the brother of Eduardo Ramirez and his wife Renata and the late Rene. His is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives. Services arranged by the Leber Funeral Home, Union City.
