To the Editor:
In last week’s “Community News,” Alex Rodriguez’s letter left the false impression with readers that it is illegal for Advance Auto Parts to change a car battery in Bayonne. The sales associate he spoke to at Advance Auto Parts was misinformed.
Back in 2001, the Bayonne Zoning Board of Adjustment granted permission to allow that dealer to install car batteries. In the case of Advance Auto Parts, the language of the board’s resolution said, “The store will not service autos with the exception of car battery installation.”
The government of the City of Bayonne shares Mr. Rodriguez’s view that legitimate business must be encouraged in our community. There is no need to go out of town to have a new car battery installed.
