FREE BLANKETS, FOOD & SCREENINGS

Hoboken University Medical Center participated in a recent event organized by the Hudson County Project Homeless Connect at the Mary McLeod Bethune Life Center in Jersey City. Sponsors of the event donated free items and services to benefit the homeless of Hudson County. FAITH Services, a department of Hoboken University Medical Center solely dedicated to HIV/AIDS in Hudson County was present to do free HIV/AIDS outreach, answer questions and linkage to medical and social support services, and hand out blankets donated by HUMC medical staff. The Community Mental Health Center was also on hand to offer counseling and screenings. The CMHC, is located just one block from HUMC, is staffed by noted psychiatrists and psychologists, as well as certified mental health specialists, crisis workers, nurses, social workers and substance abuse counselors.
