A funeral mass was offered May 6 at St. Lawrence R.C. Church for Christian John DeLaRoche. He passed away May 1. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was the President of the Weehawken Democrat Club and a well known and respected banker, serving as a Vice President and Branch Manager of Hudson United Bank. Until his retirement, Chris was an Honor Graduate of St. Peter’s College. During his youth he was an All-State Athlete at Weehawken High School and played for the U.S. Army Baseball Team during a portion of his military service. Chris was also a professional referee and long time coach with the Weehawken Community. Chris and his recently departed brother Edward were long time ushers for St. Lawrence R.C. Church in Weehawken. The DeLaRoche family wishes to acknowledge and thank Douglas Melchior, his dear friend, for his dedicated care giving during Chris’s long period of illness. Chris was the son of the late Christian and Marie DeLaRoche; the brother of Mary and Jerome Martin, Richard and Maureen and the late Ronald and Edward DeLaRoche, and the uncle of Marybeth, Maureen, Sharon, Bernadette, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Jerome and Ronald.
