Thanks from the Bayonne Columbus Committee

To the Editor:
On April 18, the Bayonne Columbus Committee held its second annual “Evening at the Piazza” fundraiser and homemade wine contest. The evening allowed the Italian community and their friends an opportunity to celebrate what Italians love best – family, friends, good food, lively music, and wine.
We would like to thank the following people for helping to make this a successful event: All the members of the committee, their families and friends for their help running the event; Father Joseph Barbone for allowing us to use the church facilities and his constant and continued support of our group; Carmine’s Deli of Jersey City for all the wonderful food; Now and Then Entertainment for the music, along with Dino who sang so beautifully; the A&P for their generous donations; Artistic Trophies; Espress Printing; the judges of the homemade wine contest, Dr.Walter McDermitt, John Gizzi, and Diane Greco; all the winemakers who entered our contest; the “Bayonne Community News” for their help with publicity; and last and most importantly, all of the people who attended that evening, giving us support and encouragement as we work toward having another great Columbus Day Parade.
