Dear Editor:
Putting up signs on lampposts is illegal in Hoboken. Most of the people running for office have respected this rule, but two candidates for Mayor, Beth Mason and Frank Orsini, continue to break the law by blanketing our city with illegal signs promoting themselves. Law makers should not be law breakers. By violating the law in this way, these two campaigns are showing disrespect for the right of their fellow citizens, and gaining an unfair advantage over those who do the right thing. At a time when we can ill forward it, city workers are being forced to spend valuable time removing signs instead of the jobs that we are paying them to do.
I am respectfully calling on all the campaigns to pledge to stop littering our lampposts with illegal signs.
Sincerely,
Brian Assadourian
