A funeral service was held April 23 at St. John’s Episcopal Church for Richard C. Bodtmann, Sr., 66. He died April 19 at Christ Hospital. He was born in Jersey City and was a lifelong resident. He worked for Mac Products in Kearny for 15 years, where he was a Master Machinist. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a vestry member and Healing Ministry member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and member of ELCU local No. 1. He was the husband of Dorothy (nee Allen) and the father of Richard (Woody) Bodtmann, Jr. and his wife Michelle A., and Allen Bodtmann, Sr. and his wife Michelle J.; the brother of Susie Pycik, Ruth Baitale, Dorothy Bunce, Margaret Patten, Carole Porto, Robert and Jean Bodtmann, Barbara Costa, Marie Disbrow and the late William and Edward. He was also the grandfather of Richard III, Megan, Rebecca and Alan, Jr. Services arranged by the Leber Funeral Home, Union City.
