A Mass of Christian Burial was offered April 18 at St. Michael’s Church for Catherine Muriel Bowman, 78. She passed away at Christ Hospital on April 15. A lifelong resident of Jersey City, she was a graduate of Aldephi University. She was the second female toll collector employed by the Port Authority of N.Y. and N.J. She worked for The Port Authority for 30 years, retiring as a Field Supervisor in 1993. She was pre-deceased by her son John Bowman and her brothers Samuel, Edward and Donald Wilkens. Surviving are her daughter Margaret Ann Fiore and her husband Francis, and three sons, Thomas, James and Kevin. She also leaves behind her sister, Margaret Keenan, her husband Thomas and grandchildren Frankie, Amanda and Rebecca and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
