On Sunday, March 29, 2009, the intersection of Academy and Baldwin Ave. in Jersey City was named “Frank Roman Way” in honor Frank Roman who passed from this earth 10 years ago. Roman was the President of AFSCE Local 2306 representing the employees of the Hudson County Welfare Division and was a founder of Hoger Crae, a Jersey City substance abuse rehab center. The legacy of Roman lives on in Jersey City and his contributions to the benefits of the welfare employees was remembered by his brother Jersey City Fire Director Armando Roman and Jersey City Council President Mariano J.
