Stormy weather could not dampen the cheerful Easter celebration in Union City last weekend.
Mayor Brian Stack and the Board of Commissioners hosted the annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 11 in the gymnasium at Jose Marti Middle School, at 1800 Summit Ave. The event was originally scheduled to be held outside at Ellsworth Park, but heavy rains required the fun be moved indoors.
During the celebration, hundreds of kids, accompanied by their parents, lined up for two rounds of egg hunting. Festivities also included kids’ rides and raffles. Prizes ranged from traditional chocolate bunnies to large gift baskets stuffed with toys.
In addition to appearances by two Easter bunnies, balloon artists and a clown were there to entertain.
