A funeral mass was offered April 7 at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Hoboken, for Anne N. Staffile (nee Lombardi), 86. She died April 2 at Madison Center in Matawan. She was born in Hoboken and lived there until she was married. She then resided in Staten Island and Brooklyn, before returning to Hoboken. She worked at both General Foods in Hoboken and New York Telephone in Manhattan, retiring 20 years ago. Anne was an avid dancer, preferring to dance with the big bands. She also loved to bowl, which she did with the Liberty Belles. She was predeceased by her husband Eugene Staffile, and is survived by her son Thomas and his wife Antoinette; her son Paul and his wife Gosia; a sister, Beatrice Young, and brother, retired Hoboken Patrolman Vincent Lombardi and his wife Barbara; nieces Donna Swift, Alexis D. Martino, Debbie Della Quilla and Maria Russo; and nephews, Chucky and Gary Gookins, Louis Lombardi, Capt. Richard Lombardi of the Hoboken FD, Hoboken Det. Vincent Lombardi the current president of the Hoboken PBA, and Sal Parisi. She is predeceased by her sisters, Marcella Gookins and Rose DiMartino. She was the grandmother of Monique, Jonathan, and Marissa Staffile. Services arranged by the Bosworth Funeral Home, Hoboken.
