Dear Editor:
Whoever made the decision that school board election voting hours should be from 2 to 9 p.m. is not in touch with the reality of people’s working lives. I have never voted in a school board election because something has always come up to prevent my getting home in time to do so. Every other election has early morning hours, so why not the school board elections? These elections are very important. There should be an effort to accommodate as many voters’ schedules as possible.
I would like to propose that voting hours be from 7 to 10 a.m. and then from 4 to 8 p.m. That would give everyone a chance to get to the polls at a time that was convenient for their schedules.
