Thanks to Roberts for so many endeavors

Dear Editor:
Mayor Roberts’ almost 25 year commitment as an elected official to the people of Hoboken has been extraordinary. And despite all the naysayers, I am here to say without hesitation that his time as Mayor has been filled with many notable achievements.
The list of his work includes the completion of a Master Plan for Hoboken, saving our hospital, the renovation and modernization of two of the city’s firehouses, the restoration of the eagles atop City Hall, the magnificent WWII Memorial, the beautiful W Hotel, the completion of the incredible Hoboken Clock Tower, the spectacular Maxwell Place Park and Hoboken Cove Park, the unbelievable Pier C Park, the soon-to-open Clearview Cinema, improvements at the public library and the drive to open Sybil’s Cave as a place for people to experience this unique part of our community’s history. Not to mention the beautiful Little League field and soccer field in Sinatra Park. Each of these endeavors is part of Mayor Roberts’ legacy. Mayor Roberts should feel great pride in his achievements as he transitions into private life.
I would like to thank Mayor David Roberts for all his efforts in continuing to bring top class developers like the Rockefeller Group and Lcor to Hoboken offering the community incredible opportunities for progress. Those who like the status quo are not leaders and should learn from Mayor Roberts that leadership involves making tough decisions.
As David Roberts comes to the end of his term as Mayor, his most important accomplishment, in my opinion, has been the highest level of integrity and honor with which he has served the City of Hoboken. Thank you, Mr. Mayor.

Sincerely,
Vincent Wassman
