Funeral services were held March 28 for Marie A. Koenig, 79. She passed away March 25 at her home in West New York. Born in the Hells Kitchen section of New York City, she lived most of her life in West New York, and was formerly of Guttenberg. A graduate of Anna L. Klein School in Guttenberg and later Memorial High School in West New York, she was retired, a payroll clerk for the West New York Board of Education for 28 years, and worked for Vincents Jewelers from 1956 to 1975, and Michaels Jewelers from 1975 to 1980. She was a member of the West New York Planning Board and Juvenile Aid Board as well as the Mayor Sal Vega Association. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, George H. Koenig. She was the mother of Kevin Koenig and his companion Sandy Jarrard, and Mark Koenig; the sister of Kathryn Martin and Jack McKenzie and his wife, Alice. She is also survived by her aunt, Helen Odenthal, nieces and nephews, and her loyal companion dog, Maggie. Services arranged by the Vainieri Funeral Home, North Bergen.
