A funeral mass was offered by the Rev. James O. Sheerin at the church of Our Lady of Grace, Hoboken, for his brother, John Sheerin, 73, known to many as “Hoboken Jack,” on March 24. He passed away at his residence on March 19. He was born in Jersey City and was a lifelong Hoboken resident. He worked as an inspector for the N.J. Meadowlands Commission for more than 28 years, and prior to that he worked for Ford Motor Company in Mahwah. He is survived by his wife Loretta (nee Marzocca); his brother the Rev. Sheerin, and his sister Mary Sternath. He was the brother in-law of John Marzocca, Linda Kemp, Dolores Marzocca, and the late Paul Marzocca. He was uncle to Rita, Helen, Susan, Evelyn, John, Jean’e, Jamie, Anthony, Samantha, and Courtney. Several great nieces and nephews also survive him.
