Burglary investigation leads to shoplifting charge
Police responding to a possible burglary in the area of 16th Street and Kennedy Boulevard on March 18 said they saw Charles DeFazio, 33, of Bayonne, allegedly hiding something under his t-shirt.
The police said when approached, DeFazio slipped into a deli and discarded items behind a refrigerator. DeFazio is accused of allegedly taking four cans of shaving cream, four cans of body spray, and three cans of deodorant from the CVS drug store on Avenue C and 14th Street.
Wrong birthday leads to additional charge
D’Andre Gaddy, 21, of West 27th Street in Bayonne, was charged with obstruction when he allegedly gave his wrong birth date to police three times after being stopped on March 18 for fare evasion on the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail line.
Police said they asked his name and date of birth, but received three different answers when it came to his birthday. Police records had him listed and his correct birth date. He has been charged with obstruction as well as fare evasion.
JC man picked up on $3,000 in unpaid fines
Police arrested Andy Galvez, 20, of Garfield Avenue in Jersey City, for about $3,000 in allegedly unpaid fines to Jersey City and Bayonne after he was stopped at the 22nd Street Hudson-Bergen Light Rail Station for not having a ticket on March 18.
Galvez allegedly owed $2,500 to Jersey City and about $500 to Bayonne.
Bayonne man charged for outstanding fines to Jersey City
Eli Cid, 31, of West 21st Street in Bayonne, was arrested for $275 in outstanding fines due to Jersey City after he was stopped on March 18 for allegedly lacking a valid ticket to ride the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail line. Cid was stopped at the 22nd Street Station at about 8:23 p.m.
