While I was in Ireland, my home was trashed

Dear Editor:
I was raised in Ireland. St. Patrick’s Day was a holy day of obligation. (It is a Catholic thing.) It was also against the law to be drunk in public every day. I got back to Hoboken from a visit to Ireland and found my house trashed. Windows broken, garden torn out, a birdfeeder torn apart and garden ornaments stolen and destroyed. How do I replace a piece of architecture as well as family heirlooms?
With my taxes getting close to $13,000, do I have to hire a hired gun to sit on my steps to keep drunks from destroying and urinating on my property? How about my personal safety? Will the city replace these items? Or give me a break in my taxes to the tune of $6,000 for the damage from this disgusting beer fest?
Someone please get in touch. My notes to councilmen have gone unanswered.
What does the expression City Fathers mean after all?

Truly yours,
Kevingerarrd Cannon
