A funeral mass was offered March 18 at St. Anne’s Church for Josephine P. Scerbo, 85, a lifelong resident of Jersey City. She passed away on March 15. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, who cherished cooking and sewing for her family. She was a parishioner of St. Anne’s Church. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Isabella Marcasiano; the wife of the late Anthony J. Scerbo; the mother of Theresa Alvear and her late husband Robert, Isabelle Masi and husband Joe, Connie Abalsamo and husband Joe, and Donna Wetzel and husband Jay. She was the grandmother of Robert, Lisa, Cheryl, Joseph, Jeanine, Joseph, Dean, Keith, Jason, Christopher, Lindsay and Ashley; the great-grandmother of Connor, Joseph, Thomas, Gianna, Carlie and Haley; and the sister of Connie D’Amico, Helen Brown, Edith Pilovsky and the late Pete Marcasiano, Marion Rivera and Ann Macellaro.
