A Hudson County Superior Court judge ruled late Thursday that Town Councilman Michael Gonnelli, who also serves as deputy chief of the Secaucus Volunteer Fire Department, must vacate one of his positions.
The issue has been an ongoing matter of contention among Gonnelli’s allies and those of his political opponent, Mayor Dennis Elwell.
Judge Barry P. Sarkisian gave Gonnelli until Tuesday, March 24 to make a decision about what he wants to do.
