Re: Guy Catrillo, candidate for Councilman Ward E

Dear Editor:
We grew up on 4th St., and we firmly believe that Ward E deserves a representation that truly knows the “special chemistry” that makes Downtown so unique.
Born and bred in Ward E, Guy Catrillo embodies the very heart and soul of Downtown, Jersey City. While others abandoned Downtown for a better life elsewhere, Guy Catrillo remained, and he selflessly worked with other members of the community to make Downtown a better place to live for everyone. He embraced the newcomers and always encouraged their stay. Guy Catrillo’s strength in team work and facilitating cooperation lays a solid foundation upon which you can build trust, confidence and improvement.
Guy Catrillo does not “Grand Stand”. Nor does he have a personal agenda. As such, Guy Catrillo will never place his personal interests ahead of those of his constituents. He will be an asset, a breath of fresh air, to the municipal government. Imagine! A member of the City Council working harmoniously with other representatives for the benefit of Downtown and ultimately Jersey City as a whole! That would be a change in the right direction.
Guy Catrillo’s leadership abilities are impeccable. He has demonstrated those abilities during his tenures as President of The Dante Alighieri Society and the Lincoln Association, as well as pioneering historic preservation.
Guy Catrillo also has the charisma to bring people together for a common cause, such as the blood drives that he has orchestrated. Guy Catrillo is “Downtown.” He is no “Johnny-Come-Lately”.
Guy Catrillo knows the many faces unique in Ward E, and he is thoroughly familiar with the problems that haunt the people living in Downtown.
Guy Catrillo is a visionary, and he will work with the council to make enduring improvements. We urge the people of Ward E, our neighbors in Downtown, to give one of our own, Guy Catrillo, a chance to serve on the Council.

Very respectfully yours,
Albert Cupo and John DiGenio
