Hoboken taxpayers will see a very small decrease in taxes for the final quarter of the fiscal year, state-appointed Fiscal Monitor Judy Tripodi said this week. A home assessed at $250,000 can expect a reduction of roughly $125 in their 4th quarter bill, she said. This comes after a 47 percent overall tax increase in the last two quarters.
The administration handed a revised $123.5 million budget to the City Council last week. This Wednesday, a public hearing on it will be held as part of the City Council meeting. Officials expect a large crowd at the meeting, and there was some murmuring about possibly moving it to a larger venue, if possible.
