Hoboken resident Frank Orsini announced his candidacy for mayor on Thursday, outside Odd Fellows Restaurant by the PATH station.
Orsini joins a field including Councilwoman Dawn Zimmer, Councilman Peter Cammarano, and resident Tom Vincent. Councilwoman Beth Mason is expected to declare her candidacy soon.
Orsini said in a short speech in front of commuters and supporters: “Our current mayor and council are out of touch. It’s taken a fiscal monitor to bring a true budget to our city. This is something our mayor and council were sworn to do, yet shunned the responsibility. Their mismanagement of city finances is inexcusable.”
Orsini is a small business owner and mortgage broker.
