The State of NJ Fiscal Monitor

Dear Editor:
Judy Tripodi has advised that the taxpayers of Hoboken must pay an additional $4,252,621 in addition to an imposed 47 percent tax increase, due to an unauthorized (ERI) Early Retirement Incentive program for some city employees. This program sounds criminal and should be fully investigated with claw back provisions on any money or promises of payments. Unauthorized(and/or possibly illegal) backroom deals should not be honored with payment. At best this is an injustice and clearly taxation without representation, and it should not be forced down the throats of Hoboken taxpayers.
