Dear Editor:
Just because there is no one readily waiting to hand out a fine for not cleaning up after your dog doesn’t mean it’s OK to leave the filth on the street where we live.
The area where children play next to the Volunteer Squad is not a dog run. Dog runs have different set ups. It is a park. When dogs are using it they pee, they poop and sometimes no one picks it up. It is a health hazard, a safety concern and a quality of life issue.
We need our parks, the area is used to throw a ball, play around, skate, etc. However, now our children must compete with the dogs.
Being a dog owner myself, I understand that dogs need space; however, they can be walked, which is what I do, and please pick up after your dog.
