Discrimination case against regional fire dept. can proceed

A judge has ruled that a race discrimination lawsuit against the North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue can proceed. The case says that because the NHRFR only hires from its five towns – North Bergen, Weehawken, Union City, Guttenberg, and West New York – they aren’t able to hire enough minorities.
The suit was noted in last year’s Reporter look at residency requirements, near the end of the story, which you can read HERE.
And HERE is the most recent story.
