Bayonne man beaten and robbed
According to police, 28-year-old Bayonne man was beaten and robbed on Feb. 6 at 9:30 p.m. near 53rd Street and Avenue B, but failed to report the incident for a week, saying he didn’t know who the men were that attacked him.
Two men approached the victim asking him what time it was, and when he looked at his watch, they hit him in the face and body, knocking him to the ground, police said.
At this point, one of the men allegedly pulled $200 out of the victim’s pocket and took his Samsung T-Mobile cellular telephone before fleeing the scene.
Police said one attacker was an African-American man with dreadlocks who was about 5-foot-8, 180 pounds, and wore a hooded sweatshirt, a black jacket, and jeans. The other was also African-American, about the same height and weight, who wore blue jeans and a black jacket.
The victim had a black eye but did not seek medical attention, the police said.
