Due to the intense programs of the Hoboken Homeless Shelter, the number of guests they have been able to get off the street and into homes has increased each year. Volunteers just received a newsletter with this exciting news:
“I have wonderful news to share with all of you! In 2008, 128 of our homeless guests moved from the street to our shelter to their own homes! I wanted you to know the sincere gratitude from these former guests who shared with me that they were very thankful to have had a safe place sleep, good food to eat, vocational/educational/recreational programs to help them grow, & the super support from all of you…”
Even in a recession, people are being helped to get back on their feet.
