SCHIELZO, THEODORE. Services for Theodore “Ted” Schielzo, 85, of North Bergen, were held Oct. 21at Vainieri Funeral Home, North Bergen. He died Oct. 19 at Hackensack Hospice at the Prospect Nursing Home, Hackensack. Born and raised in Hoboken, he lived in Union City before moving to North Bergen 40 years ago. Schielzo was a Teamster and member of Local 560. Schielzo was a decorated war hero fighting on the front lines in Europe, including the Battle of Normandy, and helped liberate concentration camps in Austria. Survivors include a daughter, Vanessa King, and her husband David; four sons, Theodore Jr., and his fiancée Christine Giebler, Darren, and his wife Barbara, Trace, and his wife Linda, of Weehawken, and Lee; a sister, Ann D’Amore, of North Bergen; an uncle, Sonny, of North Bergen; three grandchildren, Leana, Christopher and Darren Jr.; a great-grandson, Evan; three nieces, Doris, Ann and Jackie; and five nephews, Frank, James, Dominick, Jon and Tom.
