UC helps parents with its day care & early childhood programs

Dear Editor:

In today’s modern society most parents need to work and don’t have the opportunity to stay at home with their children until they reach school age. Union City has been helping parents for years. The Union City Day Care Program stared in the early 1980’s giving working parents an excellent and affordable place to leave their children in a caring and educational environment.

It is proven fact that beginning education earlier, for example, at age 4, gives children a step up to quality education. Union City recently opened the “Union City Early Childhood Center” located at 22nd Street and Kennedy Boulevard. It was built with state funds. The Center enrolls hundreds of children to start school early under the guidance of a dedicated teaching staff.

The Union City Day Care and the Early Childhood Program are two examples of Union City’s continuing efforts to help families. Another good job being done by the Union City Board of Education and our Mayor Stack and Board of Commissioners.

Thank you,
Kilcenia Rondon
