It’s that time of year again. Time to dust off your favorite costume and toast the town at some of your favorite haunts! Many local bars and restaurants kick off Halloween early with parties the weekend before the holiday. Every gal or ghoul can enjoy drink specials, giveaways, and fantastic prizes at participating establishments, on Friday and Saturday night.

Costume parties!
Gaslight located at 400 Adams St. in Hoboken is hosting their party on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Their costume party is $40 per person for the open bar and includes prizes and giveaways. First place winner gets a $100 gift certificate. In addition, guests can dine on their extensive menu in one of their charming dining rooms.
LITM located at 140 Newark Ave. in downtown Jersey City is hosting their dinner and party on Saturday, Oct. 28. Hungry guests can dine on their four-course “Pumpkin Menu” for $38 per person, which includes: an appetizer, pasta, entrée, and dessert. There will be special drinks all night including Pumpkin Beer and a Pumpkin Spice Martini. Costume clad guests will receive $1 off each drink. The costume contest includes a grand prize, which is a trip for two to the Ice Hotel in Quebec City, Canada.
Madison Bar & Grill located at 1316 Washington St. in Hoboken is holding their costume party on Tuesday, Oct. 31. This elegant uptown restaurant will serve dinner from the regular menu in the dining room and offers half priced Martinis at the bar. They are awarding fabulous cash prizes for the best costumes including: $300/first, $200/second, and $100/third.
McMahon’s located at 1034 Willow Ave. in Hoboken is holding their holiday bash on Saturday, Oct. 28. This local bar has games for sports enthusiasts (pool and darts) plus lots of local flavor. Although costumes are not required, they encourage everyone to dress up for the party, which includes drink specials and giveaways all night. From 8 to 11 p.m. is a $30 per person open bar including top shelf liquor, beer, and wine.
O’Nieal’s located at 343 Park Ave. in Hoboken is hosting their costume party on Saturday, Oct. 28. This cozy pub is serving food in their intimate back dining room and offers drink specials for costumed customers. There will be giveaways and prizes including the grand prize, which is a cocktail party for 10 people.
P.J. Ryan’s located on the corner of Marin and First streets in downtown Jersey City is holding their party on Friday, Oct. 27. This Irish Pub serves up tasty pub food that caters to an after work crowd and locals alike. The costume party starts at 9 p.m. and includes drink specials, giveaways, prizes and live music by The Reptiles.
Three A’s Bar & Grill located at 500 Grand St. in Hoboken is holding their costume party on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. The party includes drink specials and prizes for best costume. They will be serving full dinners off the menu before the festivities start.
Whiskey Bar located at 125 Washington St. in Hoboken is holding a costume party on Saturday, Oct. 28. The party starts at 8 p.m. and includes prizes for best costume. This live music venue will have music by Ants with Rockets and a midnight show by the musical comedy trio, The Lifetime Guarantee. Everyone in costume gets drinks for a dollar from 8 to 10 p.m.
Willie McBride’s located at 616 Grand St. in Hoboken is hosting their party on Saturday, Oct. 28. This lively bar and restaurant always draws a crowd and has two rooms of fun. Their party includes live music by Bitter X (Pearl Jam tribute band) and a costume contest featuring $300 in cash prizes plus an authentic Guinness mini-bar. Customers can opt for a $20 open bar.
