Thanks for making winter in Hoboken so enjoyable

Dear Editor:

I would like to complement Mayor David Roberts and the City Council for implementing the innovative “Winter Fun and Exploration” recreation program that has greatly benefited children of all ages throughout our community.

As a parent, I am especially supportive of the Mayor’s efforts to expand recreational opportunities for all our children by offering a variety of programs ranging from skiing, and ice skating to attending professional sports events.

Recently, my daughter and her friends had the privilege of spending a day-long, free ski trip to Mountain Creek which they said was thoroughly enjoyable. She and her friends look forward to another trip, as well as skating at the Wollman Rink in Central Park. Mayor Roberts has long advocated quality of life initiatives, from the creation of parks and open space to the adoption of the Safe Paths to School pedestrian safety program.

This winter’s recreation program is both creative and smart, allowing children the opportunity to enjoy a play at NJPAC in Newark, Harlem Globetrotters basketball game at the Continental Arena or a day-long ski trip in Vernon, NJ.

Hoboken is now home to many young families and our municipal government has noticed by initiating programs to accommodate the needs of households like mine. Mayor Roberts and his administration are reaching out to insure that our needs are met.
