On the Streets Where We Live…

Former Guttenberg Mayor Nicholas J. Cicco tells us that in his retirement, he is still active as a doctor of chiropractic medicine and is celebrating his 48th year as the original chiropractor in Guttenberg’s medical history! Although he is now a semi-retired physician, he works full-time for his clientele of loyal patients who he sees weekly! Dr. Cicco’s wife Colette, who serves as the medical receptionist, joyfully greets and attends to all patients and visitors before they see her husband the doctor!Dr. Cicco also tells us that his daughter Joya is the proud mother of three children named Dillon, Gianna and Nicholas. His other daughter Linda, the eldest, has become the executive director of Teamsters Local 202 in the Hunt’s Point Market, in New York. Thus, what more can one man ask for; family and a gratifying profession? Best wishes to Doctor Cicco…Ahyme DePaz of North Bergen, the daughter of Domingo and Mercedes, also of North Bergen, honeymooned in Hawaii with her husband Ronald Starcic of Cliffside Park…Joseph Peluso of Guttenberg, Raffaele Persico and Robert F. Balsamo of Union City, and Dr. Dennis Barbieri, Dr. Luciano Ghisalbertiand Nicholas F. Marang of North Bergen, were all the recipients of the Stivale d’Italia Award of Excellence in Essex County…For those asking the whereabouts of the affable Donna Cipriano formerly of the Jersey City Heights, we hear that she is now living in Secaucus. We hear fromPatricia Musto that her brother Patrick is now a retired North Bergen Lincoln School teacher who now putters around his house, and their cousin Carol Sippo is now an educator in Warren County. Patricia, Patrick and Carol are the daughter, son and niece of former Mayor William V. Musto and wife Rhyta of Union City. By the way, Patricia, lest we forget, is now a health foods industry manager in Monmouth County….Erika Reyes of West New York, an employee at the Jersey City Employment and Training Office, is being trained to be a G.E.D. Examiner. She also has become a Spanish Class Teacher at the Adult Evening School of the Hudson County Schools of Technology – Jersey City Center/Earl J. Byrd Campus in Jersey City…Jennifer Chase of Wet New York, a student at Fairleigh Dickinson University majoring in Hotel and Restaurant Management, recently studied abroad in Switzerland attending European and Swiss Hospitality Industry Seminars…And So It Goes…Until Next Time…See You Around Town….”MATT”….
