Dear Editor:
Our public schools are moving in the right direction. Through a dynamic linkage program with Stevens Institute, we’ve seen a rise in test scores and are continuing to develop a curriculum that focuses on science and technology.
We need to continue this academic renaissance. That is why I am asking you to re-elect School Board Trustees Carmelo G. Garcia, Jack Raslowsky, II and Frances Rhodes-Kearns this Tuesday, April 19th.
These three incumbents are committed to my vision of academic excellence and creating a supportive and nurturing environment for all public school students. They are working as a team to enhance education, recreation and technology programs.
We share the belief that educational success begins in a child’s first years of schooling. That’s why we have created more after school programs and recreational opportunities. Science and technology are a high priority, and we’ve expanded the International Baccalaureate to the middle schools.
Carmelo G. Garcia, Jack Raslowsky, II and Frances Rhodes-Kearns will see to it that our public schools continue this trend of excellence. Please give them your vote on Tuesday.
Mayor David Roberts
