Dear Editor:
The Spirit of America still lives for all to see
Although it faded and grew dim –
In clouds of greed and apathy
As time went on – except for brief times
We lived in such security –
It was kind of easy to forget
The One who died to save us –
The One who blessed our land
The One who kept us free!
Until one day – that awful day –
When evil came our way –
Two towers of strength came crashing down –
That one September day.
Our hearts go out to everyone
Who lost a dear one on that day –
You will never be forgotten and
Our prayers are with you still today!
Yes! Those clouds of greed & apathy
Grew so very dim as we turned our focus on Him!
“God Bless America!” was seen everywhere
We found so many ways to care.
There were candles burning everywhere,
Each one glowing with one little prayer
Helpers giving in so many ways – so many days –
Public servants laid down their lives –
For as many as could be spared – They never
Will be forgotten – We know they really cared!
Let’s stay hand in hand with our hands in His hand
Yes! Herein lies our fate;
By caring and sharing looking to Him,
Stay Great America – stay great!!!
