Thank you for the wonderful cover story last week about Toxic Audio and their Drama Desk Award-winning off-Broadway show at the John Houseman Theater. As Toxic Audio has such a unique show, it is often hard to accurately describe to others what they do, but you really captured the sense of fun that permeates their show each night. They are wonderfully talented and full of enthusiasm for what they do, and I think that comes across to the audiences who have seen them.I’ve been working with the members of the group for several months now as a marketing/PR consultant and I have to say that they are five of the most talented individuals I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. And Hoboken resident Paul Sperrazza, who was the focus of the article, has been astounding people with his incredibly versatile skills. This “human beat box” is quite proficient at imitating any sound you can ask him to do and he is also a marvelous singer, as demonstrated in several of the group’s numbers. But it’s his talents combined with the varied talents of the other four members that really makes Toxic Audio shine.
Like shows such as Stomp and Blue Man Group, this show is so different that it’s going to take some time to build the word of mouth, but I hope your readers will get a chance to see Toxic Audio, which has been extended through September 5. Once they do, I know they will leave the theater with big smiles on their faces! – Alan Miller, Staten Island

Overheard at an ATM on Washington Street
The scene: A girl is staring at the ATM as it keeps beeping at her. A few steps away, her boyfriend has his back to her, filling out forms. The machine keeps beeping. Finally she presses it and it stops.
GIRL: Oh.
GUY: What? You were just being stupid?
GIRL: Yeah. (Pause.) No, IT was being stupid.
